History of Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport was set up by replacing the primary operating Stapelon Airport in Colorado on 28 february 1995. However, the initial opening date was 16 months before and took almost $4.8 billions in constructions that was approximate $2 billion more than the budget. The first flight flew between DEN and MCI (Kansas City International Airport), operated by United Airlines. Many times, due to Bizzards, the airport faces closures for some hours to two days. In November 2015, the Westlin Hotel was constructed, and commuter rail services began in April 2016. Moreover, the work on the expansion of the main Jeppesen terminal started in 2018, and by February 2024, two new security checkpoints were open for commercial usage, permanently closing the north security checkpoint.
